TriSTATE Architecture began as an idea sparked by observation and experience. As an architectural photographer, Kirt Washington realized a recurring issue: the beautiful content he created often went underutilized by firms that lacked the time or expertise to market their work effectively. Meanwhile, homeowners navigating the custom build or renovation process faced unanswered questions and uncertainties about where to start.

A JOURNEY THROUGH THE TRADES

Kirt’s journey began in the AV trades, where he gained hands-on experience in multimillion-dollar projects. Working alongside architects, builders, and designers, he developed a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to execute successful luxury builds. This background gave him a unique perspective on the interplay between craftsmanship, technology, and design.

Transitioning to architectural photography allowed Kirt to merge his technical expertise with his creative passions. His first major project—a 10,000-square-foot home—showed him the potential of photography to elevate brands and tell the story of exceptional design.

BRIDGING TWO NEEDS

The idea for TriSTATE Architecture grew from two primary observations: professionals needed better marketing solutions, and homeowners needed better resources. By combining these elements, Kirt envisioned a platform that could serve both groups while highlighting the incredible talent within the Tristate region.

BUILDING A LEGACY

At its core, TriSTATE Architecture is about creating connections. It’s a space where homeowners can find inspiration and guidance while professionals can showcase their expertise in meaningful ways. For Kirt, the platform is more than a business; it’s an opportunity to leave a lasting impact on the local build community.
